The "Vulkan-Expreß Classic", consisting of a historic diesel locomotive, the original Brohltalbahn carriage VB 50 and the open summer carriage 458, will take you on a stylish evening trip from Brohl BE station to the Eifel from 18:15.

On the way, you will hear several episodes from the crime novel. During a break, you can also enjoy an Ahr wine tasting at Rail-Streetfood.

After a successful evening, the "Vulkan-Expreß" will take you back to Brohl, where the little train arrives at 23:40.

The ticket price includes the ride on the "Vulkan-Expreß", the crime story reading, a wine tasting and Rail-Streetfood.

Brohltalbahn operates steam locomotive 11sm for the wine festival to EngelnIt’s a premiere: With full steam, the almost 120-year-old steam locomotive 11sm will pull the Vulkan-Expreß for the first time on a regular schedule over the steep route up to Engeln on the first weekend of October. What passengers, train enthusiasts, and steam fans have long wished for will become reality during the wine festival in Oberzissen.Steam operation is regularly available on the Brohltalbahn. Usually on one to two weekends per month, the historic Mallet steam locomotive 11sm travels through the Brohltal between Brohl-Lützing and Oberzissen, as it will again on September 6/7. On the steep section starting in Oberzissen, powerful diesel locomotives then take over the trains for the journey over the 1:20 incline (equivalent to 5%) up to the Eifel heights at Engeln. Departure in Brohl for the steam trains is always at 10:15 AM and 2:15 PM.

Laach organ concert: Dresden cathedral organist plays Widor Toccata On Friday, May 16, Sebastian Freitag will perform the next organ concert at 7.00 pm in the Maria Laach Abbey Church. In addition to works by Buxtehude (Toccata in F major), Bossi ("Ländliche Szen") and others, his program includes Widor's entire 5th Organ Symphony with all 5 movements; the final movement - the Toccata - is not only Widor's most famous organ work, but is also one of the most famous and popular organ works alongside Bach's D minor Toccata.
