Guided tour of Olbrück Castle
As every year, the medieval Olbrück Castle, the landmark of the Brohl Valley, can once again be experienced every 1st Sunday of the month with an enthusiastic tour guide.
The tour is both exciting and informative for children and adults alike. Here you can experience and "grasp" history at first hand.
Our tip:
Why not leave your car behind and take the Volcano Express? It departs from the Brohltal train station in Brohl-Lützing at 10:15 am. A leisurely ride will take you to the terminus at Engeln at 11:40 am, where you will have time for a lunch break.
At around 12 noon, you will hike individually along the well-marked Osteifelweg trail via Brenk to Olbrück Castle. The route is approx. 5.5 km, or alternatively approx. 3.5 km from Brenk station.
After the castle tour, you return along the Osteifelweg: The route continues downhill in approx. 45 minutes (4 km) to Oberzissen station, where you will reach the "Vulkan-Expreß" again at 16:55. Return in Brohl-Lützing at 17:40.
April - October every first Sunday of the month.
Meeting point: 2 p.m. on the playground of Olbrück Castle in Niederdürenbach-Hain
Duration of the castle tour: approx. 1.5 hours
Cost of the castle tour: €5 per person, children €2.50, families €12.50 (plus travel costs for the Vulkan-Expreß)
